Nietzsche tells us that we should not expect to enjoy where we have not given joy. There it is: no joy to be had without giving joy first. The good news is this, giving joy is not complicated. It might be as simple as a genuine smile or a kind greeting. No one knows how it will manifest in the moment. You just have to let it rip.
