Conscious Leaders Care about Inspiration

When we take inspired action, things seem to happen like magic. All things work together for whatever good we are trying to create. Inspiration kick-starts the flow state and helps us get into what athletes call the zone.

If inspiration is so important, why aren’t more people inspired? The basic answer is that society is concerned with maintaining the status quo, not so much about having inspired people running around. This means if you want inspiration, you will have to set up the conditions for yourself. One major way to do this is to carve out 30 minutes each morning to do some inspirational reading, listening to some inspirational music and/or writing in your journal about things that inspire you. Then, when the inspiration starts trickling up to the surface and becomes a river, jump in and take the inspired action. Note: If something feels like drudgery, you can be sure your level of inspiration is low and needs to be cranked up a notch or two. Switch tasks and work on something else.

How often are you inspired at work? Does your team encourage everyone to take breaks or to keep their “nose to the grindstone” every minute?
