Conscious Leaders Care about Being Real

Of late, there seems to be increasing worship of billionaires. As if making a billion was the end all and be all of life. Hint: it is not. Nothing wrong with making a lot of money for sure. In some ways, it can merely be how you keep score of how many people you are serving (assuming it is earned honestly).

The thing is, most of the people from history that we most admire were not billionaires. Most were not even millionaires. Look at Churchill, Gandhi, or Mother Teresa. Not a lot of money there but a very high level of consciousness. Go back further and we find the likes of St. Francis of Assisi and others. And we could go back even further.

The question is, should we be more concerned with making lots of money or being real? Of having buying power or 'being' power? Of developing a reputation or developing spiritually? These things need not be mutually exclusive but generally they are.

Where is your primary focus? Does your organization place money at the top of the values pyramid or does it seek to serve some Higher Purpose?
